the reason.

i feel like i need to explain my absence. i was gone for a LONG time.

on september 7, 2011, my nephew/godson was born. from the moment he was born we knew something was wrong. the doctors could not figure out what it was but there was definitely something wrong. on appearance alone there was no way of knowing. i may be biased but he was the most beautiful little boy i had ever seen. i would look at him and see his uncle (my husband), his mom (my sister-in-law), and what killed me the most was that i would see olivia. this little boy looked so much like his mama and her family that i never saw a trace of his dad. nico spent about 21 days at one hospital and then was transferred to another hospital where he stayed until shortly after he turned 2 months... then he went home for 18 days! those 18 days were magical. there is no other way to put it. we were all able to spend time with him, love up on him, and most importantly olivia got to meet her cousin. after a short lived time at home, nico was readmitted into the hospital after a horrible day at home. on december 13th, 2011, nico left us to go to a much better place. our little angel is now up in heaven watching over all of us. the last 4 months have been very difficult for my family and i feel like i am finally getting back into the swing of things.

it is suspected that nico had a mitochodrial disease. don't know what it is?? LOOK! it is pretty awful and now that i am aware i only want other people to know about it. keep an eye out for a new non-profit org that my sister-in-law is starting. i cannot wait to share it with all of you.

i have missed my blog and all of my followers (really some of your are friends) very much! i plan to be back regularly. :) are you still there?? i hope so!!
